LESSONS- Lessons can be specific or a combination of the descriptions below. One to three students allows for more individualized instruction tailored specifically to your child.

Elements of Art
There are seven basic elements of art- line, shape, color, value, form, space and texture.These are the building blocks of composing art and art cannot be created without utilizing at least two of them. Over the four-week course students will create artwork reflecting their knowledge and will be able to analyze and discuss what they have learned.

Drawing
This class will teach drawing basics using pencils, charcoal, and pastels. Students will learn perspective, composition, and value. Students may bring a reference photo they wish to draw.

Painting
This class will introduce the basics of watercolor and acrylic painting and explore a variety of techniques and subject matter. Students may bring reference photos or request a specific style preference.

The Classics
An introduction to well known artists and their work. Students can choose from Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso, to name a few. They can create their own version of well known works of art such as Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Monet’s Japanese Bridge, Klimt’s Tree of Life and more.

Pastels
In this class students will learn to paint and draw with soft and /or oil pastels. They will learn the various types of strokes and approaches to create successful artwork which include composition, use of color, and use of value.

Miscellaneous
This class will explore various genres including pop art, abstract expressionism, op art and more. Based on students interest and ability works will be created in a variety of media.
